Andy Harris Hires Openly Gay Pollster

This week, Andy "Amigo" Harris touted a poll conducted by Arthur J Finkelstein & Associates, Inc. Of course, I bet Harris would be horrified if his conservative base knew a little about the man to whom he paid $12,000 back on May 15th. In fact, I would love to know what Harris himself thinks about Arthur Finkelstein. After all, back in December 2004, Finkelstein acknowledged that he "married" his long time gay partner.

In fact, here's a excerpt from Finklestein himself: "I believe that visitation rights, health care benefits and other human relationship contracts that are taken for granted by all married people should be available to partners,". By contrast, closet (no pun intended) liberal Harris claims to support a constitutional amendment that defines marriage between a man and a woman. Gee, I wonder how duped Dr. James Dotson feels now.

Clearly, Harris is not the man he portrays to voters. He talks as if he's the poster child for modern day conservatism, but a closer look reveals something totally different. Whether it's gay rights, or his votes for amendments to give illegals in-state tuition, Harris talks one way and votes another. And, let's not forget, he remains Progressive Maryland's highest rated republican state senator.

The only question remains is how much longer can Harris hold onto his 40% republican primary base? Without them, he doesn't stand a chancve in November.

I think it is mighty fine indeed that Andy has reached out to the gay community. I guess he is for affirmative action - in a manner of speaking - after all, spending some of his $100,000 loan to himself quite wisely it would appear.

I wonder how he would answer Mr. Finkelstein if Artie were inquire whether Andy could support the concept of Arthur and his husband adopting a little baby. Maybe even write a letter of recommendation to the adoption agency. Would love to be a fly on the wall during that conversation.

Maybe Andy isn't that bad after all. Maybe he's even behind Larry Craig all the way.

Go figure.

WTF is wrong with you? It's article like this that will force Kratovil to lose.

Who gives a damn who Andy Harris hired to do a poll? You are a very sick individual and I will never be back again. By the way, I'm not gay and this pisses me off.

Marc said...

Now you're resorting to homophobia to smear Harris, huh, Bud? So let's see, according to you Harris is the most liberal Maryland Senator, in favor of illegal immigration, and pro-gay marriage? Perhaps you should get on the same page with your buddy Kratovil, who is trying to portray Harris as too conservative.

Also, you might want to actually take a remedial course in English before your next post. Writing something like "...here's a except..." makes you look pretty ignorant. For one, you use "an" not "a" before a word beginning with a vowel. Two, it's "excerpt," not "except." Also, you should really capitalize "Republican" and "Democrat" when you use them. I probably can't give you the education you need in understanding the free market, but at least I can try and improve your poor writing skills. You can thank me later.

Anon 5:08 and 5:42...
Thanks for stopping in little joey your obnoxious turd and your dumbass buddy GA the DA.

You're both peeking again!

Folks,

Just like Marc, you all will return. You always do. You claim to hate this blog and how it's written, yet you all can't stay away.

bud said...

By the way, I have nothing against gay people. I just find it ironic that "pro-family" Harris would even associate with such an individual. I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. Dotson rescinds his endorsement.

Bud, you're an asshole.

bud said...

Joe,

How many years in prison are you facing? You're another liability for Harris.

I thought that asshole Albero swore off these sites?

Just another of his MONUMENTAL lies.

You blow Albero. You egotistical bastard.

You can't stop stroking your own pud or reading your own press...even if it's spoken by those of us who know you best...for the c-sucker, yellowbelly, chickenshit you are.

Oh, thanks for stopping in! Now f off!

first time here....
No BS?......BS!!! thats all this place is. Get with it or get out.

And the turd has the nerve to call somebody else a asshole.

Wow, it takes a big man to point out people's typing mistakes. If that's what you have to resort to, that's pretty sad. Personally being openly gay disgusts me and I'll go on record as saying it's just another perversion of our society. I don't support gay marriages and I think they should be criminal. Furthermore, letting these sickos have children should be punishable by jail time.

Again, I am amazed how Andy Harris supporters have done an about-face on this issue.

I always thought Harris was a little odd.

Anonymous said...

Yea, Mike, that is why he & the turd get along so good. They met at the park & ride.

Bud: You should be really proud of your smear campaign/blog. You are the one who can't stay away - you keep blogging about how you can't stand politics and are taking a "well needed" respite, but then you're back spreading demagoguery the next day. Why don't you get a life this time?

Seems like the homosexuality thing really touched a nerve with Joey boy.

Probably written by Larry Craig.

At least Don is honest about his feelings. Pity that he will not be welcome in heaven upon his eventual passing for carrying such hatred.

What smear campaign? It is the homophobes here who are going nuts. All Bud is doing is pointing out just another bit of Andy's hypocrisy. Bud is not criticizing gays, he is simply pointing out to AH's base that Andy has no problem using a gay man as a resource. If it bothers you and the others that Andy Harris is doing that, maybe you need to look in the mirror and confront your own homophobia.

Don said...

Actually Johnson, I believe the bible strikes down homosexuality so before you breach to me, please get your facts straight. I personally don't care who Andy Harris gets to deliver his message and I'm not partial to either candidate. What I have learned is this:

1) Harris seems to sway on different sides of the fence on issues depending on who the target audience involves but then again, that's a typical politician to say what you want to hear and do what they want once they get a cushy job.

2) This Joe Albero guy is a real creep. I hope he gets jail time for his criminal offense. If he loves Maryland so much, come down here and pay taxes.

3) This blog might be "BS" as you guys call it but I'll admit that I love reading it for sheer entertainment and random information.

4) There are a bunch who say "I'm never coming back." Who cares? Don't come back. It's not like the blogger gets paid money for every hit on his site but the funny part is, you'll be back because you can't stand missing the replies to your comments.

5) There are a few people posting as anonymous and then posting with other names. So please don't pretend to "go away" and then come on here and post as someone else.

Johnson Lineir said...

Don, you gave a very reasoned response, much more reasoned and reasonable than in your initial post. We'll just have to agree to disagree on the topic of homosexuality.

I do, however, agree with the essence of the balance of your 5 points.

And again, unless I'm totally wrong, I believe that Bud was not endorsing nor condemning anything to do with homosexuality, he was just pointing out that while Harris may not be a huge fan of the gay community, he chose to hire a man in a committed relationship with another man. He is pointing it out to inform those who might actually think this should be an issue.

Marc,

There was once a country boy who won a scholarship to Harvard. His first day on campus he became lost and asked an upper classman for directions. "Could you tell me where the library is at?" The Harvard man, full of self-assurance and visible distain, replyed. "You ended that sentence with a preposition now that my be acceptable in podunk but we, here at Harvard, speak only proper English. Phrase your sentence correctly and I'll be happy to give directions." Whereupon the country replyed; "Could you tell me where the library is at, you asshole!"

Marc said...

Don: "Wow, it takes a big man to point out people's typing mistakes."

They are hardly "typing mistakes." Bud's entries here show that the man can't write properly if his life depended on it. If you are going to write for a public audience, the first requirement should be to use English properly.

"If that's what you have to resort to, that's pretty sad."

It's not. But Bud's ignorance of basic English goes hand-in-hand with his ignorance on other issues.

And your rants about homosexuals, Don, illustrates that you are nothing but a petty bigot. If Harris doesn't have the support of folks like you I'm sure he won't miss it. Those spewing your kind of hate give conservatives a bad name and the sooner you leave the movement the better.

Anon at 10:13 -- you spelled "disdain" and "replied" wrong. Did you fail the same elementary school as Bud?

Don said...

Marc,

I believe that spelling mistakes should be limited and I make some myself by typing too darn fast. The point of the blog is to get the message across whether people agree with it or not. It should be as professional as possible. If Bud is getting this type of reaction, he is obviously hitting too close to home with some people.

Marc said...

Don,

I agree a blog should be as professional as possible. Personally, I think Bud's blog is as professional as Bud can possibly make it. Unfortunately, that reflects pretty poorly on Bud.

As far as him "hitting too close to home" -- perhaps that would be true if his criticism of Harris were in any way accurate. People here are upset not because Bud is close to the mark, but because Bud is peddling false implications. Bud has said or implied that Harris is a liberal, pro-illegal immigration, and pro-gay marriage. Those things are demonstrably false. We are just taking Bud to task for either being a liar or an idiot.

bud said...

Marc,

It doesn't matter what Harris' record says. His words seem to hold more weight among you squirrels. Face it, he can support any progressive issue and you people would justify it in your collective brain. In turn, you'll angrily villify anyone who takes Harris to task on it. Speaking of which, have you had your blood pressure checked lately?

Also, do you think you deter me at all by bashing my writing style? Just so you know, I can care less. You can keep trying though.

Also, isn't it nice to have a blog where you can put up an unedited response in real time? On the pro-Harris blogs, comments are censored and dissenting opinions are rarely seen by readers. Just ask your buddies Albero and Scwartz.

Marc said...

And what aspects of Harris's record make him a liberal, Bud? As Mike Swartz and Nick Loffer pointed out, the Progressive Maryland scorecard for the one year you chose wasn't really an accurate guage of the General Assembly's ideological actions.

As far as my writing style comments go, I'm merely trying to get you to improve your writing.

And I am glad you allow comments to go up in real time. I wish Mike did, too (although I understand why he doesn't). As for Albero, I wish he did a lot of things differently.

Marc,

Thanks for pointing out my spelling errors. Why you're a regular spell check, all one need do is push your buttons. Is that a by-product of a boring existence? Not to worry, you'll grow out of that character flaw as you age and mature but never if you insist on feeding on ideological Republican horse manure.
